Sergio Ferraresi

I have been studying Computer Science since I was 14. I studied at "I.T.I. N. Copernico - Carpeggiani" high school of Ferrara and then got a degree from the University of Ferrara in 2010.

Being first a Java developer helped me write my thesis (ATT - Automatic Testing Tool) during the MEEO internship and find my first job as a Java Web Developer at CSE (Consorzio Servizi Bancari) S.c.a.r.l. (started on February, 1st 2011).

During my 4 years and a half at CSE I deepened my Java knowledge using Eclipse RCP/SWT, JEE, Spring Framework, Google Web Toolkit (GWT), XML, XSD, JAXB and IBM DB2 technologies.

In November 2015 I started working at MEEO as a Python Web Developer using Django, Flask, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, bash scripting, and PostgreSQL databases in a GNU/Linux environment.

From March 2024 to February 2025 I worked as Team Leader at Idea75 (a Links company), but programming is my real passion! So in February 2025 I started programming again at Bit4id (a Namirial company) as a Python Web Developer using Django, FastAPI, Docker, Bootstrap5, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, bash scripting, PowerShell scripting, and PostgreSQL databases via WSL2.

After IT, Music is my second passion: I have always listened to Music in every moment of my life.

In 2008, I started playing and teaching acoustic guitar to children, and in 2012 I started practising my favourite instrument: the drums.

In 2012 I started practising at AMF (Associazione Musicisti di Ferrara), then in 2013 I moved to Making Music School (originally named Gorilla Music School).

From 2019 to 2022 I studied drums at Hybryd Music School with Nicola Magri.

In 2022/2023 I continued studying drums privately with Nicola Magri.

In October 2023 I joined the drums course at Estense Music Academy with Christian Vincenzi.

In October 2015, I joined an Italian Pop-Rock group located in Ferrara named Outburst as a drummer and sometimes as a song-writer.

In February 2018, we started working on our first EP that lead us to change sounds and to start a new project named NEBULA (born in June 2018). The EP, 'Buio Accecante', was released in March 2019 preceded by the first single 'Orizzonte'.

I really love reading (sometimes in English)! I do like fantasy (specially Tolkien's books) and crime novels, but the book category is not so important. What matters is reading! Here's my Bookshelf on Goodreads.
